The 369th Infantry Regiment, formerly the 15th New York National Guard Regiment, was an infantry regiment of the United States Army that saw action in World War I and World War II. The 369th Infantry is known for being the first African-American and Puerto Rican regiment to serve with the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. The regiment was nicknamed the Harlem Hellfighters and the Black Rattlers, in addition to several other nicknames.

Instrument of war

This looks like a musical instrument, but it is, in fact, a very early gun. It was meant to shoot several bullets at the same time. The way the barrels are lined up gave this weapon the popular name “organ gun". This is a very early depiction of one, dating from the late 16th century. It is part of a book of war, which presents other newly-invented weaponry. It may not be entirely drawn in perspective yet, and you may prefer an organ over a gun, but you are looking at the beginnings of modern warfare.
